Who we are
Daybreak Home Support (“Daybreak”, “we”, “us”) is run by [company legal name], a company registered in [Northern Ireland] with company number [number]. Registered office: [registered address]. Email: info@daybreak-home.com.
We are the controller of the personal data described here. ICO registration number: [ICO number].
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone number, password (stored encrypted) and your role (customer or provider).
- Booking details: services booked, dates and times, address of the visit, hours logged, visit notes and any problem reports.
- Payments: amounts, refunds and payout records. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Messages: messages you send through Daybreak, so we can deliver them, keep the platform safe and resolve disputes.
- Provider checks: for providers, the information and documents you give us for Daybreak’s checks. Documents are stored encrypted and only authorised Daybreak staff can open them.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device details, and the cookies described in our Cookie Policy.
Please do not send us health or medical details unless we ask for them. If a booking involves information about someone’s health, we only use it to arrange that booking.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To run your account, take bookings and payments, pay providers and send booking emails (contract).
- To keep financial records and meet tax and legal duties (legal obligation).
- To check providers, prevent fraud, keep the platform safe and improve it (legitimate interests).
- For non-essential cookies and marketing emails, only if you agree (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
- The other side of a booking: customers see a provider’s profile; providers see what they need to carry out the visit.
- Stripe, for payments and provider payouts.
- Our hosting and email providers, who process data for us under contract.
- Professional advisers, and the police or regulators where the law requires it.
Some of these companies may process data outside the UK. When they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. Booking and payment records are kept for [6 years] for tax and legal reasons. Provider check documents are kept for [period] after a provider leaves.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email info@daybreak-home.com. We reply within one month.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113), but please contact us first so we can try to help.
